Rajpal Yadav’s Family Property Sealed by Bank Due to Non-Payment of Rs 11 Crore Loan

Actor Rajpal Yadav’s property in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has been sealed by a Mumbai bank over a non-payment of a loan. An official from the Shahjahanpur branch of Central Bank of India, as quoted by PTI, stated that Yadav had taken a loan from the bank’s Mumbai branch by mortgaging his ancestral property in Shahjahanpur.

In 2005, Yadav had set up a production company called ‘Navrang Godavari Entertainment Limited’ in his parents’ name and borrowed Rs 5 crore from the Central Bank of India’s Bandra Kurla Complex branch in Mumbai.

As per reports, Yadav owed Rs 11 crore to the bank at the time of the property sealing. On August 8, a team from the Mumbai bank sealed the house near Shahjahanpur’s dak bungalow. Local residents said that the bank officials were in such a rush that they didn’t even switch off the electrical appliances inside the house.

This isn’t the first time Rajpal Yadav has faced issues with loan repayments. In 2018, he served a three-month jail sentence for defaulting on a Rs 5 crore loan taken in 2010 for producing the film Ata Pata Laapata.

During his time in jail, Yadav conducted workshops for fellow inmates. Reflecting on his experience, he shared that upon his release, the jail superintendent and staff presented him with two certificates, acknowledging his positive influence. The superintendent even remarked that in his entire career, he had never encountered someone like Yadav, who brought life to the prison walls during his stay.
