FBI Reveals How Shooter Executed Attack on Trump

The FBI, who are investigating the attack on Donald Trump at the rally, revealed new information about the shooter, Thomas Crooks.

Here are the details they revealed:

  • The shooter, Thomas Crooks, first searched online about how Lee Harvey Oswald shot President John F. Kennedy in 1963. It was found on Crooks’ laptop on July 6 that he had searched for these details.
  • The FBI believes that Crooks visited the rally site a week before the event, stayed there for 20 minutes, and then returned on the morning of July 13.
  • Two hours before the rally started in Butler, Pennsylvania, Crooks flew a drone over the area where Donald Trump was going to speak. The drone was in the air for 11 minutes, and Crooks watched the live feed from the drone on his phone.
  • The FBI believes that Crooks used special “mechanical equipment” to climb onto a roof where he fired shots at Trump. He didn’t use a ladder to get up there. Crooks was on the roof for hardly three minutes before he shot Trump.
  • The FBI believes Crooks acted alone. They haven’t found any evidence of other people helping him.

Now, the FBI wants to talk to Donald Trump to figure out what exactly happened, as they need more information for their investigation. Christopher Wray, the head of the FBI, said they don’t know if Trump was hit by a bullet or by shrapnel. The FBI said they found small pieces of metal near the stage where Trump was standing. They are checking these pieces to see if they can find out how Trump got hurt. Hence, the FBI wants to talk to Trump to get more clues and make sure they understand everything about what happened at the rally.
